Cambodia Casinos
There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, where casino wagering is illegal. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, funding sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are supposedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is correct of many borders.
The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship casino, highlights 150 slots and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel complex that features many amenities accompanying the casino, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
